First Friday & Chinese New Year
February’s First Friday is going to be an exciting one! This month, First Friday falls on February 5th and coincides with Chinatown’s Chinese New Year Celebration. We will be featuring the beautiful imagery of Arna Johnson & Geralyn Camarillo, collectively known as “Ulu Art” (www.uluart.com). Their collection of breathtaking photographic giclees on canvas, titled “Ulawena: Light from Within”, will inspire and amaze you.
Also on First Friday, just in time for Valentine’s Day…come down and check out the beautiful hand made jewelry from Ambers Jewelry. Designer Christy Deutsch will be at the gallery to show her work.
About Ambers Jewelry
Christy Deutsch loves cats and clay. Always interested in the arts, Christy explored various mediums before discovering her love for clay. Since she had also always wanted to design silver jewelry, she was thrilled to discover “Art Silver Clay” as a medium. Art Clay Silver is a precious metal clay made of tiny particles of recycled pure silver mixed wtih an organic binder and water. After the clay is made into the desired shape, it is dried and fired, leaving 99.9% pure fine silver.
Christy started Ambers Jewelry in 2008, and named the company after one of her many rescued kitties. 20% of all of the proceeds of Ambers Jewelry goes to Compassion for Animals, a non-profit animal rescue and education organization. All of Christy’s designs are one of a kind. She also welcomes special requests and commissioned pieces.
